Jo-Jo Salami

Jo-Jo Salami is a Bodywork Therapist.  He specializes in function,structural integration, osseous/muscular balance and stabilization, connective/deep tissue work and energy work.

Beginning his career in 1981, Jo-Jo has been involved in the field ever since.  His early instruction in movement and body mechanics began as a professional dancer for 15 years in Boston and New York.  He has been a professional drummer/percussionist since 1972.  Jo-Jo received his certification from the Myotone Institute in Wakefield, MA.  He obtained his license and became National Board Certified.  Also he got his water aerobics teaching certification through the Aquatics Exercise Association.

To further meet clients' needs, Jo-Jo studied advanced bodywork and systems training at the Institute for Advanced Clinical Training in Boston, MA.  Jo-Jo is also certified in Transformational Facilitation through the International Breath Institute in Boulder, CO, certified as a Reiki Master and is an advanced practitioner in Chinese Energetic Medicine.  He also studied N.L.P. Core Transformation at NLP Comprehensive in Denver, CO. Jo-Jo has studied advanced Applied Kinesiology with David Leaf DC.

Currently Jo-Jo has been working with Taiko drummers on both coasts and Hawaii in getting the most from their bodies.  He works one on one and also teaches movement classes and injury prevention classes for drummers.  Jo-Jo has taught injury prevention classes for dancers at Boston College, Boston Conservatory, University of Louisiana Lafayette and other dance organizations.  He is a member in good standing and a Certified Member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals organization.  Jo-Jo has a private practice in Brookline, MA where he specializes in chronic pain.  Additionally, he was on the staff of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island in Lincoln, RI for two years and has taught complementary/ alternative medicine classes for the nurses at Harvard /Vanguard.  Jo-Jo was referred by the Neurosurgery Department at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA as an alternative source in treating difficult pain cases for five years.  He has also taught at Lahey Clinics for the pediatrics department.  People who have exhausted all their local resources dealing with their pain issues have flown him around the country. His clients are from all over the world.
